Julianne was a perfect match for our postpartum doula needs! The amount of helpful actions she has taken -- especially with cleaning and organizing, things that were outside of my sleep-deprived, anxious mind's ability to handle on my own in that first week home -- have been lifesaving. The number of things I didn't realize needed doing until I saw that she had already handled them were many!
Julianne also provided excellent company and emotional support in these days since we've welcomed Reid home. I, of course, appreciate all the additional naps and showers she's helped me to take, but I also loved her comforting presence and conversation on our mornings together. She's really helped me feel less alone.
And I would be remiss if I didn't mention how much Roy, our dog, appreciated all the playing she did, as well. This transition has marked some big changes for him, and the extra love and attention has helped him know that he's done nothing wrong, even as his world has gotten more complicated.

Julianne was truly a godsend for our family. This was our third child, but our first experience working with a postpartum doula, and it made such a difference. From the very start, her professionalism and clear communication gave me so much confidence. When we first met, we connected right away over so many things in common. She is also a mom, loves to travel, practices elimination communication, enjoys gardening and flowers, and follows a gentle parenting approach. She is even vegetarian, just like our family.
Before our baby arrived, she came to meet our two energetic boys, aged 5 and 3, and spent time getting to know them. They adored her immediately, and even our pets loved having her around. She always had fun, respectful ideas for play that really engaged them and brought educational games and activities. After the birth, she was incredibly flexible with her schedule, sometimes coming as early as 6:30am so I could rest knowing our daughter was safe and cared for. When my husband was at work, it meant so much to have another adult to talk to and lean on for support.
I am usually the type of person who has a hard time asking for help, but with Julianne it felt so natural. She prepared breakfast and snacks, helped with dishes and laundry, and made our home feel calmer. After our initial package, we signed up for more sessions because her help was invaluable. Yesterday was our last day working together, and I am so sad to see her go. She offered not only her time and care but also so many thoughtful suggestions and resources within the community. She became a wonderful friend to me, and I hope we stay in touch. I recommend her wholeheartedly to any family considering a doula.
